Relationships to Other Animals
The Unicorn is beloved by all. It doesn't eat animals; animals don't eat it. Predators that might prey on wild horses won't do so if there is a Unicorn nearby, out of respect. Usually there is a Unicorn around horse herds, so that is why horses don't normally get preyed upon. If an animal accidentally tries to hunt a Unicorn, the poor creature will use its horn and hooves in self-defense until the predator realizes what it is dealing with, and flees in terror. The Unicorn is king of the forest, much like the lion is king of the savannahs (only Unicorns tend to get more respect by other animals. Unicorn herds, though usually quite small, are called prides).
